Whether you’re biking, hiking, running or walking, we invite you to Take to the Trails! This Saturday, June 4th (National Trail Day) join us at Checker Square for our annual Take to the Trails event. We’ll celebrate with food, music, bike-inspired fun and lots more.

Pick a trail, any trail, and head on down. While you’re here, you can:

  • Pledge to ride 100 miles this summer as part of the Broomfield 100 challenge. It’s an outdoor adventure that encourages you to visit as many trails in Broomfield as you can, getting stamps in your passport along the way.
  • Join the Bike to Summer program from our partners from Smart Commute so you can ditch the car and ride to work this summer. Everyone who visits the Smart Commute booth will be entered into a drawing to win an ultra-safe, dual-beam ShineOn bike light. (Pssst: don’t miss their guided Full Moon Bike Rides, going on all summer long!)
  • Learn how to help keep our trails beautiful from our partners at Butterfly Pavilion. It’s all part of a focus on habitat restoration as a way to improve local green spaces and engage a diverse community.
  • Fix your bike for free, courtesy of Trek. They’ll have help on-hand to fill up tires and grease chains if your bike needs a bit of attention. A donation for our charity partner, Broomfield Open Space Foundation, is encouraged.
  • Play at the bike decoration station, dry bike wash and face painting booth, hosted by Broomfield Council on Arts and Humanity. There will also be a Meet n’ Greet with the City of Broomfield’s very own Bike Police. Bring the whole family to learn a little bit more about how to stay safe on two wheels.
  • Eat homestyle cooking just like grandma’s from the Food-Lish-Us food truck. Afterward, cool off with a tasty treat from Kona Ice.

We can’t wait to see you there!
